2004年陆军开始转型后,为了增强空地之间的协同,在每个地面机动旅战斗队(BCT)里都插入了一个建制内的旅航空单元(Brigade Aviation Element,BAE),为地面指挥官提供关于陆军空域指挥控制方面的专家意见。
